California Supreme’s Soloman Hill has made the commitment to play basketball next year for the University of Arizona. Hill a 6’6 senior to be from Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, made the decision to become a Wildcat on Monday. He is among the first to join a very strong recruiting class for the Wildcats. After a busy season on the summer hoops circuit, Hill told Rivals.com he was glad to be done with the process. "I want to take the pressure off," Hill said. "I appreciate all the phone calls and e-mails but I know where I wanted to go so I want to get it out of the way, commit to Arizona and concentrate on basketball." Hill says he is looking forward to joining the Arizona program that has developed a reputation for turning out NBA-ready guards and small forwards. Among his favorite players are former Wildcat stars, Gilbert Arenas and Richard Jefferson. The coaching staff at Arizona surely hopes they have acquired a talent similar to those two in Hill. The small forward hopes his commitment will help several other recruits follow his lead and join the Arizona program which suffered a huge hit with the loss of 2008 commit and GBOA alum, Brandon Jennings. Though he maintained that he felt the decision to become a Wildcat was in his best interest regardless of who else joins him. "Hopefully I can get the chance to go to the next level," Hill told Rivals. "If not I'll take my four years of college and good things will happen for me. The goal is to win some championships. That's the goal, to make it to the tournament and win the championship." |
