LaQuinton Ross has a lot to celebrate lately. After winning the GBOA South tournament in late June, Ross has just about solidified his place in the top spot for the class of 2011. Ross has delivered inspired play all summer for his team and has showcased his talent to all who have gotten the opportunity to see him play in person. Ross' play impressed scouts from nearly every top college program in the country. But college coaches aren’t the only ones to take notice. The top grassroots analysts at Rivals.com have also spoke out with their opinions, echoing that they believe Ross to be the top prospect for the 2011 class as well. “The best prospect I've seen in the 2011 class is LaQuinton Ross. At 6-8, Ross can pretty much do anything with the basketball that you would expect from an elite wing prospect.” Rivals’ Jerry Meyers said. “He has deep range with a feathery touch. He can post up and score over defenders. And he can attack the basket with power drives as well as get to a spot in the mid-range and score off the dribble.” Ross and his Celtics team will be participating in several final tournaments for this summer before capping the 2008 summer season at the GBOA Challenge of Champions in Chicago. After winning the GBOA South, the Atlanta Celtics have received an automatic bid to the August tournament, where they will match up against the top teams from the other three regions. |
