Player Spotlight: Brendan Lane (Pump n Run)
Friday, 11 April 2008 21:24

Brendan Lane spent the summer before his junior season turning the heads of many college basketball recruiters while playing with EBO.  Lane, a 6’10 power forward from Rocklin, California is keeping the West Coast in mind as many of his choices are Pac-10 teams.

Lane told Rivals.com, "I'd like to play in the Pac-10.  My high school team gets up and down the court and presses, and that's the type of college system I'd like to play in. I also want a chance to play on the wing and play inside."

The talented forward led his high school team to a 30-3 record while averaging 20 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and blocking nearly 5 shots per game.

While the majority of Pac-10 schools are interested in Lane, he has narrowed his list to just three, California, Stanford and UCLA.  The junior, took an unofficial visit to UCLA and is planning on visiting Cal and Stanford this summer.  It is no coincidence that all three schools are in state.

"Just being close to home and they are both programs I know I could go in and play right away and I just like the area that their campuses are in," Lane told Rivals.

In addition to visiting schools this summer, Lane hopes to get back on the court after being sidelines for much of the spring period with an ankle injury.  Lane’s Double Pump team will definitely benefit once the big man finds his way back on the court.  After participating in GBOA’s West regional tournament in May, Double Pump is a possible Wild Card Team eligible for an invite to the GBOA Challenge of Champions which will be held in Chicago later this summer.
