Team Breakdown

Kenny Boynton has many goals for his last summer on the grassroots hoops circuit.  His main goal may be to end the summer as the top ranked player in the class of 2009.  Boynton, who plays summer hoops for Team Breakdown, is currently ranked #10 and is looking to use the summer hoops season to bolster himself into the top spot.

"I have a lot of opportunities to play against great players and each time I go up against higher rated players it just motivates me to show up and have a better game than the other guy.” Boynton told Rivals.com "If I can't get the top spot in the rankings, I definitely want to finish the summer in the top three."

One of those opportunities for Boynton to play against the top players in the country will happen later this month at the GBOA South tournament in Atlanta.  Boynton’s Team Breakdown heads off the GBOA rankings and is the favorite of most to win the South and eventually challenge for it’s spot as the top GBOA team at the Challenge of Champions in August.

Boynton has had numerous good showings with Team Breakdown racking up several tournament titles as well as an MVP award and looks to do the same in Atlanta in June.  However, Boynton’s journey won’t be an easy one as five of the top nine players ranked ahead of him will be participating in the GBOA South event including the top three: John Wall (D-One Sports), Xavier Henry (Athletes First) and Derrick Favors (Atlanta Celtics).
