Recruiting Update: Michael Snaer (Inland)
Tuesday, 10 June 2008 17:20

Inland’s Michael Snaer recently got a chance to showcase his talent on one of the biggest national stages earlier this month at the Pangos All-American Camp.  Snaer’s play at the camp was impressive and his smooth shooting from behind the arc matched with his aggressiveness at attacking the basketball made more than a few jaws drop, even though he didn’t feel the same.

"I thought I played just okay. It was good enough to stand out. I was lifting before I came up there and I was worn out," Snaer told Rivals.com. "I wasn't really at 100 percent but I was okay. It was good enough I guess."

Regardless of Snaer’s opinion, his impressive play earned him Rivals’ top billing, when they claimed he was the overall MVP of the camp.  The 6’5 shooting guard averaged about 20 points per game and showed the most promising offensive skills throughout the camp.

The Pangos camp was held at USC’s Galen Center, an arena Snaer is familiar with after playing there for the 2008 GBOA West tournament in early May.  Snaer turned in another standout performance there in May when he led his Inland team to a runner-up finish and a berth to the GBOA Challenge of Champions in Chicago later this summer.

The four star junior will be using the rest of the summer to take some official campus visits as well as participate in several elite camps all while continuing his stellar play with his summer hoops team, Inland.  Snaer’s busy summer will hopefully end with a decision on where he will play college basketball in the next year.  As of right now, Snaer has nearly ten offers from high major programs including: Arizona, UCLA, USC and Stanford as well as California, Florida State, Missouri, San Diego State and Washinton.
