Victor Rudd, is in a position this summer to take advantage of the attention he’s garnered from college recruiters. The 6’7’’ junior from Sylmar, California has drawn interest from several high majors, including USC and Louisville, but is also interested in several other schools such as Washington, Connecticut and Florida. This summer season will do a lot for the small forward in terms of exposure and recruiting, though currently Rudd is open to several different schools.
Rudd told Rivals.com he is taking his time in finding the right school for him and has several factors that will go into his decision. "I am looking at the way they run their offense and their academics," he said. "Academics are really important to me because my grandma really wants me to go to a school with good academics. I also want to make sure that I am comfortable with the school and that it is just a good fit for me."
Rivals ranks Rudd in the top 100 for the class of 2009 and has him as a Top 20 small forward. His stock has been on the rise during the past few months and with a strong summer with his team, 2D1 Basketball Academy, Rudd is looking to crack into the Top 50. 2D1 will be competing in the GBOA West tournament taking place at USC’s Galen Center in early May, giving USC coach Tim Floyd the opportunity to see Rudd play first hand.
