Like most high school juniors Jordan Hamilton is thinking about where he will go to college after next year. Unlike most juniors Hamilton is being courted by many of the biggest schools in the country. Mail comes in everyday from coaches looking to sign Hamilton to play basketball for their program. The 6’7’’ forward from Compton, California is ranked as the top power forward in the class of 2009 and in the top ten overall. Though Hamilton is getting attention from many schools, the junior has narrowed his field down to five: Texas, Kansas, UConn, USC and Syracuse. “A lot has changed on my list and with my recruitment recently," Hamilton told Rivals. "I've removed California from my list because of the coaching change and added USC. My final list consists of Texas, Kansas, USC, Connecticut and Syracuse. These five schools are the final five on my list.” Hamilton says he hopes to have made a decision by the start of his senior year and plans to make official visits to all five of his top schools. He also plans to make several unofficial campus visits first. Hamilton will use this summer as not only a period to debate which school he will be attending after graduation but also to make his last season of summer hoops his most memorable. Hamilton made a memorable impression on those at the GBOA West tournament at USC’s Galen Center, while playing with Team Chandler. Though the team did not advance to Sunday, fans got a chance to see one of the premier high school prospects match up against other top talents and the elite forward did not disappoint, being named to the West All-Tournament Team. |
